Hopefully this list of FAQ's will clarify any questions you have regarding our Big Island of Hawaii vacation rental, area and reservation process. Please don't hesitate to contact us either by email or phone with any further questions. It's important to us that our vacation rental will suit your vacation plans.

How private is the vacation rental? Are there any neighbors?

The rental is situated on a 1-acre lot with a lot of ohia trees, ferns and guave trees. There are homes on either side of our property, but far enough away to ensure your privacy.

How many people can it sleep?

Our vacation rental comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests with a Queen size bed in each bedroom, with plenty of space for guests with sleeping bags.

What is provided at the vacation rental and what will I need to bring with me?

The cabin comes equipped with most things you would need for your vacation: Full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/pans/utensils, dishware, basic spices), washer/dryer, cleaning supplies, soap, blankets & pillows, video/dvd library, starter roll of paper towels & toilet paper.

You Will Need To Bring: personal toiletries, groceries, extra toilet paper/paper towels.

Recommended Items Include: Bug Spray, music cd’s/DVD’s.

Do you accept pets?

No pets allowed.

What are check-in/check out times? Can I arrive earlier or leave later?

Check-in is @ 3pm and check out is @ 10am. We are often booked back to back and our housekeeper needs time to properly prepare the vacation rental for our next guest. Earlier check-in or later check out may be arranged as long as there isn’t another guest checking out on your arrival day or checking in on your departure day.

How do I make a reservation?

We require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation with the balance due 30 days prior to your arrival.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes, we accept Visa and Mastercard.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 30-day cancellation policy for refunds so please make sure your dates are firm. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to arrival date will be refunded should the rental be re-rented for the same dates at the same price.

How do I get the keys?

Once your deposit is received you will be emailed directions, info about the vacation rental and instructions for accessing the key. There is lockbox right on the door with a code for getting the key so you can let yourself in.

Will there be cell phone service? What about Internet?

Cell phone service is available at the vacation rental. Our rental is equipped with hi-speed internet access.

Are there shopping/restaurants nearby?

The nice thing about the rental is that it is secluded, yet not remote. You are with 5 minutes of Pahoa in one direction, and 5 minutes to Keaau or 15 minutes to Hilo in the other direction.
